On Wednesday, May 5th we had our Catholic Comeback Celebration at St. John’s on the Lake, a community we have been serving for over 20 years. It is a caring community who looks out for each other, and when our weekly Masses were put on hold because of the pandemic and safety of the residents, it was a huge void in our lives and in our hearts.
After one year, our pastoral team was finally able to gather with a vital part of our community. It was a beautiful day!!! We went door to door, offering prayer and an opportunity to reconnect with a community we missed and love dearly. Since we could not have a reception, we delivered flowers and “fun” cupcakes. We ended our celebration with Mass, one could feel the movement of the Holy Spirit! Fr. Tim invited us to renew our baptismal promise, as a reminder to continue to share the love of Jesus. Everyone received a mini bottle of champagne to celebrate our faith and friendship!!!
This summer Terri Balash, Director of Pastoral Care, is creating more opportunities for our community to reconnect with our parishioners who are homebound. If you would like to learn more, please contact Terri at 414-469-6173 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
