Liturgical Ministries
If you are interested in one of our liturgical ministries, please contact Nicholas Corrao, Sacristan, at ncorrao@ffpmke.org. All scheduling is done by Nicholas through our online program, Ministry Scheduler Pro.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God at Mass, including the Welcome, Announcements, Call to Worship, First and Second Readings, and Prayers of the Faithful. Typically 1-2 lectors serve at weekend Masses. Training and resource books are provided to assist lectors in their ministry.
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. During the Covid pandemic, Eucharistic Ministers are not being used due to health and safety reasons. Please check back in the future for when we are able to welcome this ministry back.
Altar Servers
Altar Servers are trained to assist the priest at Mass. Men and women (age 10 or older) serve at all Masses: 4:30 pm on Saturdays; 7:15, 9:00, and 11:30 am on Sundays; and holy days.
Ushers
Ushers are teams of parishioners who help create an atmosphere of hospitality for our parishioners and guests at worship. They provide a friendly “hello,” assist people to their seats, take up the collection, and hand out the bulletins.
Gift Bearers
Gift Bearers bring up the bread & wine at Mass and represent all of us and our offerings. Please consider being our representative if asked by one of our ushers at Mass.
Music Ministry
If you are interested in music ministry, please contact Tom Koester, Director of Liturgy and Music, at tkoester@ffpmke.org for more information or to set up an audition. We are happy to welcome new music ministers throughout the year.
Cantors
Cantors proclaim the psalm and gospel acclamation and lead the congregation in song throughout Mass. Cantors should have a strong musical background, be confident and comfortable singing in front of a group, and have a positive, collaborative spirit. It is highly preferred that cantors can read and learn music on their own.
Instrumentalists
Those who have a musical talent with an instrument are invited to participate in Music Ministry. Violin, flute, guitar, and other Church-appropriate instruments are invited to play at various Masses throughout the year. Musicians must be proficient on their instruments and able to read and learn music independently.
Choir
Choirs sing for major holidays during the church year. Choir members have a positive attitude, willing spirit, and musical background. Please contact Tom if you are interested in choir.
